BEKASI CITY IN GENERAL 


Bekasi is an industrial area and for urbanites, this city within the megapolitan environment is one of the fourth major cities in Indonesia, located in west  java province. 

Bekasi bordering with Jakarta at the west, Bogor at the south. And the north with Java sea.

The city of Bekasi was called a patriot city because it was in an area that was once named Jayagiri which was part of the Jatinegara district. 

These areas became an important location of Indonesian defense from Dutch efforts to control West Java, through the north coastline. 

The soldiers at Cakung River is the front guard in battle. While Karawang is the rearguard in maintaining a strong defense. This attitude of patriotism against the invaders later became the forerunner of the Bekasi as the City of Patriots.

Dayeuh Sundasembawa or Jayagiri is a term Bekasi used to be the capital of the Tarumanegara Kingdom. This vast kingdom covers Jakarta and surrounding. 

Dayeuh Sundawa is the area of origin of Maharaja Tarusbawa who is the founder of the Sundanese kingdom and continued to bring down the next king to the 40th generation, and the last is  Ratu Ragumulya, the queen of the last Sundanese kingdom.

In the Dutch era, Bekasi was still a district area including master Cornelis Regency, at that time people's lives were still controlled by Chinese landlords, this condition continued until the Japanese military occupation, this Japanese military occupation changed the conditions of the people at that time. 

Japan conducts japanisation in all sectors of its life, which is meant by Japanisation is the entry of Japan into Indonesia by held all of what the country does, such as requiring the use of the Japanese language, loving the Japanese flag.

Bekasi was still entered into the Batavia region. After 1949 marked a demonstration of around. 40,000, the people of Bekasi were present at the Bekasi Town square. 

The point of the demonstration is that the people of Bekasi submit a proposal to the central government change from Jatinegara Regency is changed to the Bekasi Regency.

Jakarta, for example, a metropolitan city that is full now is very rare to find new housing. even in the Jakarta surrounding city like in Bekasi.

The land is getting rare most of the big companies prefer to build vertical dwellings close to the city.

Jakarta as the capital and center of economic activity is still the main attraction, for the majority of the population in Jakarta and its surroundings as a place to make a living.
